The Cumaru Saturator SC600 is an easy-to-apply product, specifically designed to impregnate and provide long-lasting protection for Cumaru wood surfaces against climatic aggressions such as UV rays and harsh weather conditions. Cumaru is a wood species with characteristics comparable to Ipe in terms of quality and technical performance. Known for its high durability and density, it offers excellent stability. With its reddish-brown hue and distinctive grain pattern, Cumaru integrates harmoniously into all decking styles, whether rustic or more contemporary. Thanks to its non-film-forming formulation, our saturator does not flake, making it ideal for maintaining Cumaru wood decks as well as other exotic wood structures. It particularly stands out for its resistance to stagnant chlorinated water, offering optimal protection for exotic wood decks located near swimming pools. Practical and efficient, this saturator is applied in a single coat, making it perfectly suited for large wooden surfaces. Maintenance is simplified as it requires no prior sanding. The reddish-brown hue of the saturator echoes the natural colour of Cumaru wood, enhancing its original appearance. Environmentally friendly and safe for the applicator, this saturator is the ideal solution to protect and enhance your Cumaru wood while preserving its natural brilliance.

HOW TO USE THE SATURATOR
Surface Preparation:
- The wood must always be clean, dry, and dust-free. If the surface is dirty or grimy, pre-clean it using Wood cleaner N100 or its concentrated version, Concentrated Wood Cleaner N140 . After cleaning, ensure the wooden surface is completely dry before applying the saturator. If your wood has greyed, apply the Exterior Wood Brightener DG105 to restore its brightness and achieve a uniform colour base before applying the saturator.
Product Application:
- The Cumaru Saturator SC600 is ready to use and does not require dilution before application. As it is tinted, it is important to shake well before use to ensure an even distribution of pigments for an optimal result. Apply a single coat of saturator to new wood using a brush, sprayer, or a wide flat brush (spalter). The best application method for optimal results is with a wide brush. Note: Older wood tends to absorb more product than new wood. For renovation purposes, if necessary, apply a second coat to older wood, respecting a waiting period of 2 to 24 hours between applications. Ensure the product is evenly spread for a uniform finish, especially after using a sprayer.
Product Drying:
- Allow to dry. After applying the saturator, wait at least 24 hours before resuming normal use. We recommend taking precautions during the first few days following application.
PRECAUTIONS BEFORE APPLYING THE SATURATOR
- Do not apply Cumaru Saturator SC600 at temperatures below 10°C.
- Do not apply the saturator in direct sunlight or at temperatures above 35°C.
- Do not apply to greyed or blackened wood, or if mould (black spots) is present.
- Do not apply the saturator during rainy weather.
PRECAUTIONS AFTER APPLYING THE SATURATOR
We recommend observing a few precautions in the days following the application of Cumaru Saturator SC600:
- Do not cover your deck or Cumaru garden furniture.
- Avoid moving heavy garden furniture on newly treated decks.
PROFESSIONAL TIPS
- The best time to treat your deck is in spring or autumn. Avoid winter, as cold and humid conditions can prevent proper penetration of the saturator into the wood fibres, leading to adhesion or drying issues. Likewise, extremely hot summer conditions should be avoided, as excessive heat can cause the saturator to dry too quickly, preventing it from properly soaking into the wood.
- In summer, apply the saturator early in the morning, late in the evening, or in the shade. This prevents rapid evaporation and ensures better penetration into the wood.
- For new woods, especially exotic species like Cumaru, Ipe, or Itauba, it is recommended to let the wood “open up” for 3 to 6 weeks before application. This allows better absorption of the saturator.
