The Black Wood Stain LNB500 is designed for decorating and renovation projects where wood is intended to play a more graphic role in the interior. It can be used to darken a light-coloured surface, create contrast with walls or furniture in softer tones, or give renewed character to woodwork that has become visually too neutral.
On beams, black can emphasise the architectural lines of a room. On furniture, it can create a more contemporary or sophisticated look. Applied to panelling or decorative wooden elements, it can also help visually structure a space.
LNB500 remains a tinted wood finish: the final appearance of a wood stain therefore depends on the substrate. The colour and natural characteristics of the wood directly influence the final shade.
Why choose Black Wood Stain LNB500?
Gives wood a deep, decorative black colour.
Two finishes available: matt or gloss.
Designed to protect and decorate interior wood.
Darkens the surface while allowing the natural appearance of the wood to remain visible.

How to apply Black Wood Stain LNB500
Preparing the wood before staining
Make sure the surface is clean, dry and completely free from dust.
Remove any deteriorated or incompatible existing finishes before applying the wood stain.
If the wood has defects or irregularities, sand it appropriately to obtain a more even surface.
Carefully remove all dust produced during sanding.
On old woodwork or dirty furniture, pay particular attention to cleaning in order to minimise differences in absorption.
Applying LNB500 evenly
Stir the Black Wood Stain LNB500 thoroughly before application to ensure an even colour.
Apply the product in the natural direction of the wood grain.
Depending on the depth of black required, apply between 1 and 3 coats.
Work in continuous sections to maintain an even appearance across the entire surface.
Avoid excessive product build-up, which may result in variations in colour or sheen.
Stir the wood stain regularly during application to maintain a consistent shade.
Black Wood Stain LNB500 is intended for interior use only.
Allowing the finish to dry properly
Wait approximately 2 to 4 hours before applying another coat.
Make sure the surface is sufficiently dry before continuing the application.
After the final coat, allow approximately 24 hours for the finish to dry completely.
During this period, avoid rubbing, handling or placing objects on the freshly treated surface.
Matt or Gloss Black Wood Stain: which finish should you choose?
Matt black for an understated, graphic finish
The Matt Black Wood Stain LNB500 reduces reflections and gives the surface a more subdued appearance. This finish is particularly suitable for projects requiring a strong contrast without a glossy effect.
On a bookcase, beams, sideboard or panelling, matt black can emphasise the lines of the wood and blend easily into contemporary, minimalist, industrial or natural interiors.
Gloss black to enhance light and reflections
The Gloss Black Wood Stain LNB500 interacts more strongly with light and reflections. It naturally draws attention to the surface and can give furniture or decorative woodwork greater visual presence.
The final result always depends on the type of wood, its original colour, grain and absorption capacity. A preliminary test is therefore recommended before treating the entire surface.
How to achieve a lighter or deeper black
The Black Wood Stain LNB500 allows you to gradually build up the colour by applying between 1 and 3 coats.
1 coat begins to darken the wood while keeping its natural appearance clearly visible.
2 coats significantly increase the intensity of the black colour.
3 coats provide a visually deeper shade when required by the substrate and the desired finish.
Always allow 2 to 4 hours before applying an additional coat.
It is best to assess the colour once the finish is dry. A very light wood species will not produce exactly the same result as naturally brown wood or a surface with highly contrasting grain. The final colour therefore results from the combination of LNB500 and the individual characteristics of the wood.
Maintaining wood with a black finish
Regular cleaning
Remove dust with a soft cloth to preserve the appearance of the surface.
For more noticeable marks, use a gentle cleaning method that is compatible with the finish.
Avoid abrasive sponges or harsh cleaning products that could locally alter the matt or gloss appearance.
