1. Immediate cleaning.
Always clean your brushes immediately after use, without waiting for the paint to dry. For water-based paints, use warm water and mild soap if needed. For oil-based paints, start by cleaning with an appropriate solvent (turpentine or white spirit) and finish with mild soap.
2. Proper drying
After cleaning, gently reshape the bristles to restore their original shape. Let your brushes dry horizontally or with the bristles facing down, but never with the bristles facing up in a container, as water could seep into the ferrule (the metal part) and loosen the bristles.
3. Correct storage
Once fully dry, store your brushes upright with the bristles facing up. Avoid resting them on their bristles, as this could permanently deform them.
