Description

Composite wood is a modern, stable, and durable material made from wood fibers and polymer resins. It’s widely used for decks, cladding, and other outdoor structures thanks to its mechanical strength and low maintenance needs. However, over time and with exposure to UV rays, composite wood can fade, lose its luster, become sensitive to stains (grease, pollution, pool water), and start to deteriorate.

The Composite Wood Saturator SBC600 addresses these issues with a unique colorless formula:

  • Preserves the original tone without altering it.
  • Revives the natural sheen and restores uniformity to dull surfaces.
  • Provides enhanced UV protection, delaying discoloration.
  • Reduces the penetration of grease, liquids, and pollutants.
  • Makes everyday cleaning easier.

Free from coloring pigments, the SBC600 maintains a completely natural look, respecting the shade you originally chose for your composite boards or panels. It’s ideal for those who want to protect their composite decking effectively without changing its appearance.

Benefits of Composite Wood Saturator SBC600

  • Colorless: maintains the original color of composite wood.
  • Protects against UV rays and weather damage.
  • Prevents stains from grease, pollution, and chlorine.
  • Non-film-forming: no peeling, easy maintenance.
  • Single-coat application: easy to apply even on large surfaces.
  • Suitable for decks, cladding, fences, and composite furniture.
  • Water-based formula: solvent-free, low odor, environmentally friendly.
  • Tools clean up easily with clear water.

How to Apply the Saturator

Surface Preparation

Good results depend on a perfectly clean surface. Before applying SBC600, clean your composite deck or cladding using Cleaner N100 or Concentrated Cleaner N140. This step removes dust, green deposits, grease, and traces of chlorinated water—common around pools. After cleaning, allow at least 24 hours of drying time to ensure optimal saturator penetration.

Application

The SBC600 is ready to use. Shake the container well before opening to homogenize the product. Apply a thin, even coat using a wide flat brush, roller, or sprayer, always following the grooves or grain direction of the composite. Spread the product thoroughly to avoid any excess. On newer or lightly exposed composite surfaces, one coat is enough. The goal is to nourish and protect the material without leaving residue on the surface.

Drying Time

After application, the saturator becomes touch-dry within 2 to 4 hours, but it’s best to wait around 24 hours for complete drying. During this time, avoid heavy foot traffic, covering the surface, or placing heavy furniture back in place. For cladding, make sure the surface isn’t exposed to heavy rain immediately after application.

Precautions Before Application

  • Ideal temperature: between 10°C and 30°C.
  • Do not apply under direct sunlight or on hot surfaces.
  • Avoid application during rain or in high humidity conditions.

Precautions After Application

  • Do not cover treated surfaces immediately.
  • Avoid dragging heavy furniture across the treated area for the first few days.

Pro Tips

  • Composite wood is less porous than natural wood: for best results, apply the saturator in thin, well-spread layers. Use a wide flat brush or roller to ensure even coverage without excess product.
  • Choose the right season: spring or autumn when temperatures are mild. In summer, apply early in the morning or late in the day, in the shade. Avoid winter, as composite wood can be too cold and damp.
  • Work in continuous sections: plank by plank on a deck, or panel by panel on cladding, to achieve a uniform finish. Always check the weather forecast—rain during drying may reduce the protective effect.
  • For maintenance, reapply every 9 to 18 months, depending on exposure and use. Around pools, composite decks face more stress (chlorine, standing water, barbecue grease) and may need more frequent treatment. On sheltered cladding, maintenance can be spaced out further.
  • To save product, avoid unnecessary thick coats: composite absorbs less than solid wood, and a thin coat is usually enough to restore protection and shine.

Why Choose a Colorless Saturator for Composite Wood?

Simple cleaning isn’t enough to preserve a composite deck or cladding. While it removes dirt and buildup, it doesn’t protect against UV rays or gradual fading. The Composite Wood Saturator SBC600, with its colorless formulation, acts as an invisible barrier—extending the lifespan of your outdoor installations without altering their original color. Unlike tinted saturators, it preserves the natural tone of the boards while offering reinforced protection against weathering and everyday stains.
