Terrace Wood Saturator ST600 Natural, Colourless or Tinted

Easy to apply (no wiping), the Terrace Saturator ST600 penetrates the surface of the wood and protects it effectively against climatic aggressions, UV and bad weather for example. It is the ideal product to protect and give a beautiful appearance to a terrace and keep it in good condition. An ideal finish for gratings and terraces, it provides nourishing protection and accompanies the wood as it evolves. The Terrace Saturator ST600 is ideal for terraces, pool surrounds, gratings, flagstones, outdoor staircases made of Softwoods (Douglas, Pine, Spruce, Red Cedar...), Hardwoods (Chestnut, Oak...), Autoclaved woods (all species) and Thermo-heated woods. The terrace saturator is available in many colours, but also in natural or colourless colours.

In contrast to varnishes and sealers, wood deck saturators do not form a protective film on the wood, they impregnate it deeply to improve the resistance and protection of the wood deck against stains, weathering and UV rays.

Caution: the "Colourless (pigment-free)" version contains no pigments and provides less UV protection than the tinted versions. The maintenance to be provided can be more frequent. This version is well suited for terraces under cover. For very sunny and weather exposed surfaces, it is recommended to choose a tinted version.

WOOD DECK SATURATOR GUIDE

PREPARE THE TERRACE  

• The wood must be clean, dry, dust-free and without traces of old finishes.
• On old finishes, strip, clean, or sand down to the raw wood. Dust carefully.

USE OF THE TERRACE SATURATOR

• The wood saturator is ready to be used, the saturator must be shaken well before application for a better dispersion of pigments. Do not dilute the saturator.
• Make sure that the ambient temperature is between +10°C (50F) and +35°C (95F). Avoid using the product in rainy weather or in direct sunlight. Do not apply the saturator on grey, blackened or mouldy wood.
• Apply the saturator in the direction of the wood grain using a brush, spalter or roller (short bristles), in 1 regular and fine coat. If the wood is very absorbent, it will be necessary to apply a 2nd coat after a minimum of 2 hours of drying, avoid exceeding 24 hours of drying.

DRYING

• Allow to dry. Wait at least 24 hours before putting back into use.
• Take a few precautions during the first few days.

PRECAUTIONS AFTER APPLICATION OF THE SATURATOR

It is important to take a few precautions during the first few days:

• Avoid covering the terrace
• Do not move heavy garden furnitures

TIPS

• On new autoclave wood, the salt build-up must be brushed off. Also brush the resin resurgence of softwoods before using the saturator.
• If you have a large terrace, it is possible to apply the saturator using a suitable sprayer.

• Douglas fir wood has a surface state that is often "glazed" at the factory exit, which can prevent the saturator from penetrating into the wood and thus limit its protective qualities. To maintain new Douglas fir wood, you must wait at least three weeks of exposure before treatment to allow the saturator to penetrate properly. If you cannot wait that long, you can brush the wood with hot water using a black soap such as the Liquid Black Soap SN800.

• Maintaining a wooden deck is easy. If the shade of the wood becomes lighter or duller due to weathering and UV radiation from the sun, we recommend applying a new coat of saturator to the previously cleaned deck (if necessary, a light sanding should be carried out).

RENOVATE YOUR TERRACE

• After cleaning a terrace with the  Wood Cleaner N100 or the Concentrated Wood Cleaner N140, Apply the Terrace Saturator ST600 in one coat on the most stressed surfaces.
