Furniture Varnish VM500 is ideal for protecting and waterproofing wooden furniture and objects. Clear and transparent, this polyurethane varnish for wood offers effective protection against everyday aggressions such as scratches, household stains (grease, coffee) and the use of cleaning products. This varnish for wooden furniture provides a delicate finish, embellishing the grain of the wood and adapting to all wood species. Resistant to wear, shocks and scratches, it protects the wood surface while enhancing the nature of the wood. Daily maintenance is easy, as a simple sponge stroke is enough to remove all traces of dirt.

This polyurethane varnish keeps the original wood longer thanks to its protective effect. In a matt clear version, this varnish keeps the natural appearance of the wood intact. Very suitable for the protection of wooden tables.

 INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE USE OF VARNISH FOR WOODEN FURNITURE

PREPARE THE FURNITURE

• The wood must be clean, dry (humidity < 10%), dust-free and without traces of old finishes.
• If necessary, strip or sand down to the raw wood. Dust carefully.

VARNISH APPLICATION

• Ready-to-use product, shake well before applying the varnish.
• Apply the varnish in the direction of the wood grain using a brush, spalter or roller (short bristles) in 2 to 3 regular, filled coats (3 coats for highly use furniture).

Drying

• Leave to dry for a minimum of 2 hours between each coat of soft varnish, without exceeding 24 hours.
• A light sanding with fine abrasive paper (120 grit) after the first coat removes small roughnesses from the wood.
• Dust carefully before applying the next coat of varnish.
• Complete hardening is achieved after a few days, take care  during the first few days.

PRECAUTIONS AFTER VARNISH APPLICATION

Complete hardening is reached after a few days, it is important to take a few precautions during the first few days:

• Do not cover the furniture.
• Do not place any objects on the freshly varnished furniture.
• Do not use impregnated textiles to remove dust.

TIPS

• We advise you to choose a matt finish to keep the original appearance of the wood.
• On tannic and exotic woods, prepare the piece of furniture with the Anti-Tanins Primer PAT400.
• For other types of wood, prepare the piece of furniture with the Pore Filler Primer BP400.

Polyurethane varnishes are protective varnishes for wood, usually resin-based. The one designed by Anova Bois is water-based.
