How to Use Dark Wood Varnish VBF500

Prepare the wood for varnishing

• Wood must be dry, clean and bare, with no previous finish.
• Sand back to bare wood on previously varnished, oiled or waxed surfaces.
• Remove all dust thoroughly.
• For tannin-rich woods (oak, chestnut…), apply Anti-Tannin Primer PAT400.
• For other woods, apply Pore Filler Primer BP400.

Application of Dark Wood Varnish

• Shake well before use
• Apply in the direction of the wood grain
• Use a brush, spalter or roller
• Apply 3 even, generous coats

Drying

• Allow 2 hours between coats; do not exceed 24 hours
• Light de-nibbing recommended after the first coat (grit 120–240)
• Dust off before each coat

Maintain interior wood

• Dry cleaning: vacuum, soft mop or cloth
• For stains: wipe with a damp cloth and Black Soap SN800

• Light sanding
• Apply a fresh coat of Dark Wood Varnish VBF500
