Description

Interior Wainscot Wood Stain LL500 is perfectly suited for interior wood panelling. Based on water-based resins, this interior stain offers effective protection against everyday wear and tear. Interior Wainscot Wood Stain LL500 makes the maintenance of panelling easier as it makes the wood washable. A simple sponge stroke is enough to remove fingerprints and other dirt. Available in many shades such as white, tinted stains such as Interior Wainscot Wood Stain LL500 will give more warmth and colour to your panelling.

Stains are protective products for the interior that will create a protective film on the wood. This film protects and reinforces the wood from stains, scratches or other daily wear and tear.

GUIDE TO THE USE OF PANELLING STAINGUIDE TO THE USE OF PANELLING STAIN

PREPARE THE PANELLING

  • The wood must be clean, dry, dust-free and free of traces of old finishes.
  • Strip or sand the panelling down to the raw wood if necessary. Dust carefully.

USE OF PANELLING STAIN

  • Panelling stain is a ready-to-use product, it is not necessary to dilute it, however it must be stirred before application for a good dispersion of the colour pigments (such as white).
  • Apply the stain in the direction of the wood grain using a brush, spalter or roller (short bristles) in 1 to 2 regular and filled coats.

DRYING

  • We recommend allowing a minimum of 2 hours drying time between coats, but do not allow more than 24 hours drying time.
  • We recommend light gritting, or sanding, of the wood with fine abrasive paper (120 grit) after the first coat of woodstain has been applied.
  • Dust carefully before applying the next coat to the wood.
  • Complete hardening is reached after several days, be careful and take a few precautions in the first few days.

tipsTips

  • Make a preliminary test of Interior Wainscot Wood Stain LL500 on a fall or an inconspicuous area to better appreciate the final result.
  • If the panelling is made of tannic or exotic woods, we recommend preparing the wood with the Anti-Tanins Primer PAT400.
  • If it is made of another type of wood, we recommend preparing it with the Pore Filler Primer BP400.

MAINTAINING AND RENOVATING PANELLINGMAINTAINING AND RENOVATING PANELLING

MAINTAINING THE PANELLING

  • Interior wood panelling can be maintained with a damp sponge and black soap.

RENOVATE THE PANELLING

  • After a light sanding of the surface, apply a new coat of stain to the highly use panelling.

Like glazes for horizontal wooden surfaces, stains are protective products suitable for interior vertical wooden surfaces such as panelling. Panelling is a vertical wooden surface usually included in so-called wainscoting (a wooden assembly consisting of panelling, skirting board and chair rail). They are therefore surfaces that need to be taken care of and can be directly personalised with coloured stains or varnishes. The fashion for owners of wooden panelling today is to protect it and stain it with a white colour. This is why white stain has become a must for products that combine aesthetics and protection.
