The Wood Shutter Paint PVB900 is specially formulated to provide long-lasting protection and a professional finish for your wooden shutters, windows, frames and joinery. Its unique microporous formula ensures effective resistance to humidity and harsh weather conditions, while letting the wood breathe to prevent blistering. Thanks to its high-quality pigments, this paint resists UV rays and ageing, preventing yellowing and fading over time. Available in satin finishes and in a range of capacities (1, 2.5 or 10 litres). Thanks to its water-based formula, this paint is gentle on the environment and the applicator.

Its water-repellent formula guarantees a waterproof barrier that defends the wood against the elements, while allowing natural breathing thanks to its microporosity. With its satin finish, this tinted paint for wooden shutters can be applied to both old wood and new wood.

How to use PVB900 External Wood Shutter PaintHow to use PVB900 External Wood Shutter Paint

Preparing the wood

  • Apply to clean, dry, sound, dust-free and perfectly adherent wood.

  • Remove or sand old paintwork that is firmly adhering.

  • Remove paint that is flaky, flaking or poorly adhering.

  • Avoid applying wood paint to wood with a moisture content of over 17% or a pH of over 11.

Application of PVB900 Exterior Wood Shutter Paint

  • This wood paint can be applied with a brush, roller or spray gun. For spray application, add 2 to 3% water. If you are using an Airless spray gun, we generally recommend nozzles 417, 517 and 617. To find out more, read our article on the choosing nozzles for airless spray guns.

  • On bare wood: first coat diluted 5-10%, second coat diluted 0-5%, third coat undiluted. Thinning solvent: water.

  • Maintenance: one undiluted coat.

Drying

  • Leave to dry. Dust dry in 1 hour. Dry in 4h (with T° = 20°C and RH = 70%). The paint can be recoated after 4 to 12 hours.

Précautions avant applicationPRECAUTIONS BEFORE APPLYING PAINT

PVB900 Wood Shutter Paint does not require an undercoat. However, the application of an undercoat is recommended for new wood that is oily, acidic, resinous or tannic.

  • For tannic and exotic woods (oily, acidic), as an undercoat, we recommend using Anti-Tanin Primer PAT400.

  • For other woods (new, porous), you can apply an undercoat by diluting PVB900 Wood Shutter Paint with 20% water.
